This Fantasy romp focuses in on fourteen year old Dessa Redd, an acrobat from a traveling circus named Hugo's Lively Distractions Traveling Amusement. Her good friend Topper, a short, blue-skinned elf-like creature, is obsessed with robbing the good Queen of some of her wealth. Dessa's other friend is a large, purple-skinned one-headed ettin named Fisk.

Together, they embark on an adventure that will change their lived forever.
