The Dragon Keepers series is written by Kate Klimo and illustrated by John Shroades.

Ten year-old cousins Jesse and Daisy have always wanted something magical to happen to them. So it’s a wish come true when Jesse’s newly found thunder egg hatches, and a helpless, tiny but very loud baby dragon pops out. They name the the female dragon, Emerald "Emmy" or "Em," for her green skin.

St. George, the famous dragon slayer, is after Emerald so he can drink her blood. It is up to Jesse and Daisy to keep their new dragon friend safe.
