Review

In the country of Oto, Kurogane and Syaoran are Oni-Hunters known as the Puppy Pair, Big Puppy and Little Puppy. They go the the city hall and receive new orders to go the Tower of the Little People. They enter the tower are are attacked by Oni. Back at the Cat's Eye Cafe, Sukura collapses while doing dishes. Fai lays her down in her bed so she can rest. In the front door walk Seishirô looking for Oni Hunters. He attacks Fai, but Fai is not weak fighter himself and is able to defend himself, but for how long? Back in the tower, Kurogane and Syaoran continue to battle Oni and run across Sumomo and Kotoko, two of the little people. They aren't really little. In fact, they are quite large, they just look young. Kurogane and Syaoran learn some important information about who and Oni will follow. They also learn that someone has been mortally wounded in the Cat Eye Cafe. When they return, that learn that Fai was killed by an Oni. When they find Seishirô, they begin to battle and Seishirô impales Syaoran through the chest. All players then appear in the Fairy Park in the Country of Edonis. They have all been in a virtual reality work of Oto, which was inside a game. None of it was real except for Seishirô, who has found a way to manipulate the game and bring the Oni out of the game and is now attacking Edonis.

Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE is definitely one of my favorite manga series out there today because of the excellent writing and the wonderful artwork. I love a good adventure, and Tsubasa always delivers. I love the fact that the party has to continue traveling to different world and are always seeking new adventures.  Boy, oh boy, was I ever shocked when Fai died. And then it looked like Syaoran was about to die also. But then we find out that they have been in a virtual reality world for a couple of books! Well, color me surprised! Hah! That was a good trick. But now that Seishirô has brought the Oni out of the game into the real world, it looks like all of their Oni Hunter Training will come into good use. Clamp has created a wonderful series in Tsubasa, and I cannot wait to see if they ever get all of the memory feathers for Sukura and she will finally be able to remember who Syaoran is. I am sure that it is going to be one roller coaster of a ride. Well, the good news is that I have Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE - Volume 8 and I will be reading it soon. So should you.

I rated this book a 9½ out of 10.
