Review

When we last saw Sakura, she was still chained up in the castle of the Princess With the Locks of Gold. She is able to pull the chains out of the old wall and follow the children to a hole in the wall they are passing through. Inside the hole is one of her memory feathers embedded in a hard substance, and all of the children are working to get it free. She wonders who is putting the children up to this task. Meanwhile, back in Spirit, Syaoran has been doing some historical research and finds out that Princess Emerald, otherwise known as Princess With the Locks of Gold, may not have abducted the children 300 years ago. It seems that the town was struck by some sort of plague and she took the children in a gave them shelter to protect them form getting sick. Syaoran tells Kyle, the local doctor, his suspicions that Grosum might be the one who has been stealing the children lately. So, that night they set a trap. Someone falls for the trap and runs into the castle with Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and others following their glowing footsteps. There they find Sakura and she has the feather after the children gave it to her at the behest of Princess Emerald's ghost. The villian, crazy for the power it could give them, attacks Sakura, but the heroes win out in the end. After Sakura reabsorbs the feather, Mokona teleports them to a new world called to Oto. After being attacked by and killing a creature called an Oni, they find work being Oni-Hunters. One night, they are looking of Oni to kill when they are approached by another band of Oni-Hunters. The only question is whether the new Oni-Hunter are good or bad . . .

Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE - Volume 5 is another action-packed manga that I highly enjoyed. I love this whole, science fiction, world-hopping, bad guy rear-kicking, cool manga series. Clamp sure does now how to entertain. The book is well-translated and adapted to English and a pleasure to read. I always know that when I pick up any book in the Tsubasa series, I am in for one heck of a roller coaster ride. The nice thing about this book is that I didn't figure out who the bad guy was in the country of Jade. As for the stretched out artwork, it was wonderful as usual. Don't forget that the storyline is fun and exciting, which is the best part. I must say that the Tsubasa series is one of my favorites, which is good because there are some many book sin this series. I have a long way to go and I hope Clamp doesn't stop creating this series anytime soon. Sakura sure must have lost a lot of memory feathers. I wonder if she will ever remember her childhood friend, Syaoran? I sure hope so. Overall, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE - Volume 5 is a totally awesome book and one that should not be missed by any lover of action books, like I am. I cannot wait to see what happens next in the country of Ono with the other Oni-Hunters in Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE - Volume 6. I bet it will be very exciting.

I rated this book a 9½ out of 10.
