The Paths of Darkness Collector's Edition by R.A. Salvatore consists of four books written in the world of Forgotten Realms. This collection appears in a large hardbound volume. The stories revolve around Wulfgar as his friends struggle to figure out why he has changed after returning from the Abyss.

The Silent Blade - The companions begin to notice changes in the steadfast barbarian Wulfgar. None of them can fully understand what he went through while a captive of the demon Errtu, but it becomes painfully obvious that something of Wulfgar was left behind in the Abyss, that something essential was changed. Even the resourceful Drizzt struggles to help his friend, but in order to do so, he'll have to say good-bye.

The Spine of the World - Wulfgar, alone and troubled, finds himself in the rough-and-tumble port city of Luskan. There he meets a rogue's gallery of thieves and assassins, pirates and corrupt officials . . . and a woman who may be able to do what even Drizzt couldn't: find the hero Wulfgar once was, and could be again.

Servant of the Shard - Artemis Entreri has lived a longer life than most assassins enjoy, and that's mostly because he's always worked alone. Convinced that he finally killed his hated arch-rival Drizzt Do'Urden, Entreri travels to far Calimport, where he again finds his fate linked with the evil Crystal Shard, and the dark elf who wields it--a dark elf named Jarlaxle.

Sea of Swords - Wulfgar returns to the side of his friends, and together they must chase down a pirate queen who holds the Sea of Swords in the palm of one hand--and the mighty Aegis-fang in the other!

Paths of Darkness is a great four part series in the continuing tales of Drizzt Do'Urden. Even if you haven't read a Forgotten Realms story before, you will still be able to understand everything in Paths of Darkness Collector's Edition. The newly released hardbound book makes this the perfect time to pick up this entire well-written fantasy series all at one time. This series is definitely worth the read.
