Negi Springfield is an
English teacher at the all girls Mahora School District Middle School in
Japan even though he is only 10 years old. Negi's class is excited about
Mahorafest '03. While trying to decide what type of display they should
create, some of the girls suggest some things that might not be very
appropriate for middle schoolers. They finally decide on creating a
Horror House. One of Negi's students has been in the class since 1940.
You see, she is a ghost named Sayo Aisaka. All she really wants is a
friend, but since she cannot be seen, she doesn't have one. When she
leaves a message to that effect, some ghost hunters show up to get rid
of her. Chachamaru returns to her inventor, Satomi Hakase to get some
work done. Satomi notices some things about Chachamagu that shouldn't
be. Chachamaru has a secret. She is in love with Negi and doesn't want
anyone to know. Meanwhile, as the festival approaches, Asuna, who has
had a crush on Takahata since she was five, would like to ask this older
man to accompany her. Knowing that she is too shy to try, they give Negi
an Age-Misrepresentation Candy so he looks like he is 15 years old. Even
though none of his students except for Asuna know who he is, they all
fall for his good looks. While practicing on Negi, Asuna finally works
up the courage to as Takahata out. But when she sees him with Shizuna,
she realizes that her hopes have been dashed. Finally, while meeting
with a bunch of magic users, Negi and the group realize that they are
being spied upon. When it turns out to be one of his students, Negi
stands his grounds against all of the magic users to protect her.

I do love the fullness of the Negima
series. What do I mean by "fullness?" Is this even a word? This series
is so packed with dialog and storyline that it takes eight times as long
to read as a normal manga book. In other words, you get more for your
money with the Negima series than you do with other manga books. I swear
. . . it must have taken me four hours to read this book. Some manga
books I can polish off in 30 or less minutes. Not so with Negima. That
is why I love these books. You get a ton of satisfaction from reading
them. And here is the other wonderful thing about Negima . . . the
translation and adaptation into English is excellent. I don't say this
about many manga books, but it is definitely true for this series. The
artwork, of course, is spectacular and the stories are packed with fun,
fun, fun! Overall, this series just keeps getting better and better and
I loved this book. I cannot wait to find out what happens in
Mahorafest '03
in
Negima!:
Magister Negi Magi - Volume 10. It should be quite the adventure.
