Synopsis

Captain Yellow Shoulder has a spaceship full of children and animals. They travel to different locations, often foiling the evil plans of Supermuscleman and his sidekick, Doc Krok.

In this book, Sardine and her friends have to help find the stolen Golden Glob from the Museum of Space, fight with a miniature Supermuscleman in the Space Boxing Championship, stop Doc Krok from cheating in a game of Sockabone on Planet Topdog, stop Supermuscleman from harvesting all of the Kingdom of Yummy (darn that Supermuscleman), star in a new science fiction movie, help an old pirate friend out, stop Toxin from ruining Sardine's birthday party, help some badly-drawn comic to be free (and hopefully drawn better), and stop Doc Krok and Supermuscleman from stealing Universal Attraction, the band that plays music for the planets to listen to.

Sardine in Outer Space 3 is a collection of short stories written by Emmanuel Guibert and drawn by Joann Sfar. It is a graphic novel starring some good guys (Captain Yellow Shoulder, Sardine, and Little Louie) and some bad guys (Supermuscleman and Doc Krok). This book was translated from French to English by Elizabeth Brizzi & Alexis Siegel and colored by Walter Pezzali. This book is intended for young readers ages 8 to 12.

Review

Sardine in Outer Space 3 is another fun collection of stories about a space-traveling girl and her friends as they foil the plans of Doc Krok and Supermuscleman. These two sure can be a major pain in the rear for Captain Yellow Shoulder, Sardine and Little Louie.

I love the way that Sardine and Little Louie always find a way to outsmart the two main bad guys. You would think that Doc Krok and Supermuscleman would just give up one day, but they don't. They have so many evil plans to make money, or take over something, it is quite funny.

Young readers will love the adventures of Sardine and she travels through space helping the less fortunate. The artwork is a tad rough, but still enjoyable. The writing is witty and will make you occasionally laugh out loud.

Overall, Sardine in Outer Space 3 is a nice addition to this series and I look forward to seeing what kind of trouble that Sardine will get into next in Sardine in Outer Space 4. Sardine proves that you don't need muscle to win, just brains.

I rated this book an 8 out of 10.
