Dragon
Eye: Volume 3 ended with Squad Zero still separated in the tunnels
battling Dracules. Hibiki,
Leila, Kajiyami, Sazanami, and Nanbu are able to fight their way clear
and escape. They make their way back to VIUS Headquarters and are
shocked to learn that Issa and Sôsei are not there. When Issa and Sôsei
finally do arrive just before dusk, Issa lies about what they were doing
and what they saw. He does not want to reveal any information about that
Daraku fellow they saw. He wants to report him to the Senior Officers in
private. Sôsei is afraid that this will cause Issa to be demoted. The
next day, Mikami sends Leila on a solo mission. Her job is to pretend to
be a food delivery girl and retrieve a message from a spy that has
infiltrated the Yara Clan. It seems that the Yara Clan is selling minor
level Dracules to the rich and powerful and using the Dracules to fight
in a ring while the rich are betting on them. Since this could cause a
major infection, VIUS must put a stop to it. Just as Leila is about to
retrieve the information from the spy, Missy Akagumo, a person that is
out to destroy VIUS, crashes the party and declares that there is a spy
in their midst. When a young boy is discovered to be holding some
incriminating evidence against the Yara Clan, Leila yells out hat she is
the spy and from VIUS. Both are tied up and thrown into a room. They
escape and Leila has to fight her way out. With overwhelming odds, she
realizes that she just might not get out of this one alive. Meanwhile,
Issa faces the Processing Division Head and all of the Captains of the
other squads. They are meeting to determine whether they should demote
Issa for his recent actions. Without Issa as Squad Leader of Squad Zero,
someone else would have to fill his shoes, and Hibiki wants the job.
Dragon
Eye: Volume 4 is written and drawn by Kairi Fujiyama. This story was
Translated and Adapted by Mari Morimoto and Lettered by North Market

There are
also some sections in the book for: A) Honorifics Explained, B) The
Story of Dragon Eye,
C) Questions & Answers, and D) Translation Notes. The book reads from right to left and back
to front, just like a book from Japan. This manga book is intended for
readers ages 13 and up.
Dragon
Eye: Volume 4 is another exceptional manga book filled with some
drama and a ton of action. Even after only four books, I already know
that Dragon Eye is going to end up as one of my favorite manga series
that Del Rey publishes. I absolutely love all the characters and the
storyline is very intriguing. The artwork by Kairi Fujiyama is
first-rate, but I do sometimes get a little lost when reading the action
scenes. Still, this is not enough to put a damper on my enthusiasm for
this wonderful series. The translation and adaptation to English is very
good, which makes the story flow well. I really enjoyed the long story
dealing with Leila on her first solo mission. It is nice to get to know
her a little better, as she is usually overshadowed by Issa's
overbearing personality. I wonder if Squad Zero will ever be fully
formed? As it is, it is really only comprised of Issa and Leila, while Sôsei
is just on a temporary reassignment. All other VIUS members that have
worked with Squad Zero are volunteers helpers on loan. I believe that
Squad Zero should be fully formed so we can get to know each member
better and create our own connections with them. As it is, I don't
really care about the temporary members that won't be around long.
Overall, Dragon
Eye: Volume 4 is another excellent book in this awesome series and I
cannot wait to see how Hibiki goes about trying to become the Squad Zero
Leader in Dragon
Eye: Volume 5. That should be quite interesting.

this book a 9 out of 10. |
