Synopsis

Many years have passed since Cassandra Andrews has been on the spaceship Wandering Star. A native, Aldar, of the planet she is on, approaches her. He wants to know about her and the Wandering Star. Cassandra was the daughter of the President of the United Nations of Earth when she left to join the Academy. There, she is the first and only human. She is instantly met with extreme prejudice by two specific aliens, Mekon and Lindi.

After getting in a brawl with Mekon, she is rescued by Madison, the psychic guy. He takes her to the ship he and some friends are building…the Wandering Star. On the ship, she meets Graikor, who looks like a 6-foot humanoid buff rabbit, and Elli, an energy being that spends a lot of time inside the Wandering Star’s computer.

While on a test flight of Wandering Star, the Bono Kiro attack the Academy. The Wandering Star finally makes it to the Alliance stronghold, and join the fight.

Review

I wasn’t sure what to think when I started reading this graphic novel. The writing seemed a little rough and didn’t flow very well. The artwork was just sorta okay. But as the story evolved, so did the writing. The text started to flow more easily and the quality of the artwork increased.

I did find myself enjoying the story and really like the alien outcasts.

The one thing I really didn’t understand was that Cassandra really seems torn up by what happened in the past. Maybe I just haven’t seen it yet. I realize that when the Bono Kiro attacked the Academy, it must have been bad, but she wasn’t there.

So, maybe other things happened in the other volumes that cause her all of the pain. There are at least two other volumes to this tale, and this one does leave you hanging. I look forward to seeing what is going to happen.
