Synopsis

In the Country of Recort, Kurogane talks with Syaoran about what happened in the Memory Book (see Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 13). They soon discover that a book with Princess Sakura's memory feather is in the Central Library. The library has two huge winged wolves as guardians, or watchdogs. To get to the book, they take a flying train to the Central Library and Syaoran decides that they will steal the book. Inside the library, Fai discovers a magic wall and they find a hidden entrance to the catacombs behind it.

The library's defense kicks into place and monstrous snake-like creatures descend from the ceiling to attack. Syaoran and Kurogane go on the attack and defeat the beasts. A little further on they discover what appears to be ruins from the Kingdom of Clow, where Syaoran and Sakura are from. These ruins were created from Sakura's feather and are based upon her memories.

They run across a monstrous hole in the floor and Mokona tells they that he can feel the feather down there. Syaoran and Kurogane jump into the hole blindly. When they reach the bottom, the watchdogs of the library attack. After a long battle and the watchdogs are defeated, Syaoran takes the memory feather and gives it back to Sakura. Mokona tries to open the portal to a new world, but they find that the magic of the library is preventing them from leaving.

Battling their way outside the library, they are finally able to jump to a new world and find themselves in more ruins in the Country of Shifting Sands. But this time it looks like and entire city has been devastated. When the acid rain begins to fall, they seek sheltered in a large two-towered building that looks undamaged. They find a lot of people that have recently been murdered. All of a sudden, arrows begin raining down on them and they find that they have nowhere else to go.

Review

Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 14 gets back to the main storyline of looking for Princess Sakura's feathers. They have arrived on a world that uses magic, so there are cool things like flying trains and magically large guardians. But what is the best about this series is the imagination of the creators. This series is packed with some much adventure, it puts other manga series to shame.

I find that with every Tsubasa book that I have read, I was never disappointed, except maybe in some of the English Translation and Adaptation, and that the stories are always fun and exciting. Since the characters get to constantly travel to new worlds, there are always fresh adventures to be had. So, combined with a killer story and totally awesome artwork, no wonder this is my favorite manga series to read.

In this book is a character from xxxHolic, another series by Clamp. I haven't read those books yet, but since this is the second time there has been a crossover, maybe it is time to get started on those also.

So, overall, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 14 is another exceptional book in an already spectacular series by Clamp that I cannot get enough of. Wow, I sure wish all manga books were as good as these. As to what is going to happen next, I will have to find out soon in Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE: Volume 15. I cannot wait to start.

I rated this book a 9½ out of 10.
