Synopsis

Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons by Bill Watterson is a collection of Calvin and Hobbes comic strips.

This collection contains the following storylines: Chicken Pox, Killer Bicycle, Secret Code, The Math Genius, Calvin TV, Diorama, To the North Pole, Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons, Private Eye, and The Ethicator.

Calvin and Hobbes became very popular in the mid-1980's, and continued into the 1990's, until Bill Watterson decided that he was going to retire the comic strip. It was seen daily in hundred of newspapers and enjoyed by millions. Calvin is a quirky 6 years old boy who has a pet stuffed animal tiger names Hobbes. But to Calvin, Hobbes is alive. Together, they constantly get into mischief. Hobbes often acts as Calvin’s conscious, but being a tiger, he also acts upon his whims. Calvin’s parents can also be quite funny. Calvin always seems to be testing his mother. And Calvin’s father’s explanations of how things work are always hilarious. And then there is Calvin’s arch nemesis, Susie. Usually innocent of all wrongdoing, Calvin loves to harass her. But she always beats Calvin in the end.

Review

Calvin is the type of kid you never want to live beside. His imagination is unparalleled and his energy is never-ending. With Hobbes by his side, he can do anything, or at least he thinks he can.

Calvin and Hobbes, in my opinion, is the best daily comic strip ever created. Every one of his books is a treasure to read and will always make you laugh out loud.

I never had the chance to read the daily comics that are in Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons when they were in the newspaper. I found myself giggling, smirking, smiling, grinning and laughing out loud as I absorbed the drawings on the pages of this book.

It is such a shame that Bill Watterson decided to no longer create new tales of Calvin and Hobbes. So many people, be them kids or adults, can related to a lot of what happens to Calvin or his parents. \

Any way you put it, this book is shear genius. Maybe that is why Calvin is go greatly loved . . . and missed. Like any good thing, I wish there were more books to read. But since there aren't, pick up a copy of Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons. You will not be disappointed.
