Synopsis

Garfield Rolls On is the eleventh collection of Garfield comic strips. All of the comic strips appear in black and white. The last two pages contain information for the Prospective Cartoonist. Jim Davis lists five steps you will need to do to prepare yourself for this thankless job. The rest of the 124 pages consist of either two daily comics per page or one Sunday comic. Most of the strips are single shots, but a few storylines appears.

This collection contains the following storylines: Uncle Roy on TV, Rubber Chicken, Too Mean to Odie, Power Failure, The Birdbath, Stuck in a Tree, The Caped Avenger Returns, To the Farm, Diet Week, Picnic Time, Arlene, There's a Mouse in the House, Fleabag, Doc Boy Visits, and Lost!

This book contains comic strips from 5/28/1984 through 12/30/1984.

Garfield Rolls On by Jim Davis is a collection of Garfield comic strips. Garfield became very popular in the late-1970s and continues on today, although the character now looks a little different. It is seen daily in thousands of newspapers and enjoyed by millions worldwide. Garfield is a quirky cat that is quite fat, lazy and loves his lasagna. He loves to pick on Odie, the dog, and give Jon, his owner, a hard time. He hates diets and loves food...any type of food, especially lasagna.

Review

Garfield is a classic comic. It has withstood the ravages of time is and still quite popular even after 25 years. Although I prefer the earlier looks of Garfield, he can still bring a smile to my lips.

Like any other Garfield book, I like the longer storylines that Jim Davis occasionally does. One shots are okay, but nothing adds to the flavor of a good daily comic strip like a continuing story from day to day. It really keeps the reader coming back for more.

Overall, Garfield Rolls On is a pleasant addition to the Garfield family.
