The Far Side comic strip

Synopsis

The Far Side Observer is the eighth collection of The Far Side comic strips by Gary Larson. All comic strips are in black and white. These are all single shots, not the normal 4 panel comic strips. The Far Side is a humorous comic strip that appeared in a multitude of newspapers daily.

The Far Side became very popular in the early 1980's, and continued into the 1990's, until Gary Larson decided that he was going to retire the comic strip. It was seen daily in hundred of newspapers and enjoyed by millions. The Far Side is just as the name imply...just on the far side of sane. Most of the strips feature humans, but not all. If an animal is the main character, then they are usually placed in the shoes of a human. Most of the Far Side strips deal with the stupid things humans do in every day things. Other strips deals with things that are just totally wacky. Either way, they make fun of us and everything we do. And since it is human nature to laugh at the misfortune of others...you will probably find this comic strip to be very funny.

Review

The Far Side Observer contains comic strips I have read over and over. The thing that is so great about The Far Side comic strips is that they are timeless. The Far Side has been, and will always be, in my top three daily comic strips: the other two being Calvin & Hobbes and Peanuts.

It is quite a shame that Larson didn't continue creating his strips like Charles M. Schulz did up until his death. Yes, people do love these comic strips, be we want more, more, more! And since we won't be getting any more, maybe you should pick up a copy of this book.

Although The Far Side originally came out over 20 years ago, it is still being published today. The Far Side is just as popular now as it was in the 1980's. Look at me, I still love it.

Overall, The Far Side Observer is a wonderful collection of comics that made me laugh out loud at least ten times during the reading. Any book that can make me laugh is well worth my money, at least in my mind.
