Welcome to Reading Review

What is Reading Review?

Reading Review is a collection of books that we have selected to review, or been asked to review by authors or publishers. With over 900 book reviews and many different genres to choose from, you should be able to find one book that really interests you . . . or two . . . or three . . .

Menu

When you mouse over a genre, you can either go the Author's Name page for that genre or pick a page in that genre for all authors whose last name starts with that letter.

All Authors - If you select "Authors" under any genre, a page with a list of all authors and their titles in that genre will appear.

A - Z - If you select a letter under any genre, a page with a list of all authors whose last name starts with that letter and their titles in that genre will appear. For example, if you want Drizzt Do'Urden books by R.A. Salvatore, mouse over Fantasy and click on "S" for Salvatore.

Genres

The reviews on Reading Reading mostly consist of Fantasy, Young Reader, and Comics (Graphic Novels and Manga) books, with a little bit of Science Fiction (which I would love to do more of), Westerns, Horror, Mystery, Non-Fiction, Thriller, and Early Chapter books thrown in to stir it up a little. Young Readers is the fastest growing category right now as we review middle school and teens books for  Random House and Penguin. We also review fantasy books for Wizards of the Coast, which is where a lot of my Fantasy Reviews come from. We used to do a lot of reviews for Del Rey Manga, but there were just too many for me to handle and I had to slow down on them.

Please feel free to browse. Hopefully you will find a book you would like to read. The books are organized by author's last name. The author's name is color-coded to coincide with the genre of the books listed.

The following is the list of genres on Reading Review:

Comics

Early Chapter

Fantasy

 Horror

Mystery

Non-Fiction

Paranormal Fiction

Realistic Fiction

Rating System
A long time ago in a place far, far away, Conan started recording the date when he finished a book and rating that book on a scale of 1 to 10. Somewhere along the line, he started adding in ½ on some of the books because he found only ten numbers to be too limiting.

At the bottom of every review is our opinion on what we think the book should be rated. Please note that this only our opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt. The rating system is as follows:

1 = Horrendous
2 = Awful
3 = Bad
4 = Substandard
5 = Mediocre
6 = Decent
7 = Good
8 = Great
9 = Excellent
10 = Stupendous
N/A = Not Applicable

Audio Books

Should the review be for an audio book, the symbol in the upper-right corner will follow the name of the audio book. Both CD and Cassette have been reviewed, but not many of them.

Click on the music symbol for a page with reviews of Audio Books only.

Series
A series is a collection of books written about the same characters or world. There can be two types of series: one written by the same author or one written by a multiple of authors.

We have listed both types of series here. Check them out and find a fun series to read.

Please note that not all of series are listed on this page. You will have to go to the main page for each genre to see the full list for each.
